Description
The full series of Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) grades and physical formats sold under a single product family. The same active as the parent Vitamin D3 SKU but presented as a complete portfolio for buyers who source multiple potency levels and physical formats from the same manufacturer.
Format depends on grade: white crystalline powder (pure crystalline form), pale yellow oily liquid (oil concentrates), or free-flowing powder (spray-dried beadlets). Available in potency levels from 100,000 to over 40 million IU per gram.
We supply food-grade, feed-grade, and pharmaceutical-grade Vitamin D3 from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Series grades include Vitamin D3 Resin (40 million IU/g crude oil concentrate, the feedstock for downstream processing), Vitamin D3 Oil 1.0 MIU/g (standardized oil for supplement and food use), Vitamin D3 500 CWS (500,000 IU/g cold-water-soluble powder), Vitamin D3 100 CWS (100,000 IU/g for food fortification), Vitamin D3 Crystal (pharmaceutical-grade pure crystalline), and Vegan D3 (lichen-derived for plant-based supplement market).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering potency, related substances, peroxide value, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
The Vitamin D3 Series groups the available potency and format variants under one product family, allowing buyers to order a coordinated portfolio (for example resin and 500 CWS together) under a single contract and consolidated shipment. The Series structure is used because Vitamin D3 buyers in supplement and fortification applications often source multiple potency levels and physical formats from the same manufacturer.
Vitamin D3 was characterized in the 1930s following decades of research into rickets. The vitamin is unique in that humans can synthesize it through sunlight exposure on skin, making 'vitamin' status partly conditional on geographic latitude and lifestyle.
Industrial production proceeds primarily through ultraviolet irradiation of 7-dehydrocholesterol (extracted from lanolin in standard production or from lichen for vegan grades), converting it to cholecalciferol. The crude resin is then processed into the various commercial formats.
Listed in BP, USP, EP, and JP pharmacopoeias as Cholecalciferol. Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA and the European Food Safety Authority. Recommended Dietary Allowance is 600 to 800 IU per day for adults; many clinical authorities recommend higher doses up to 4000 IU per day.
Supplement market growth since 2010 has been one of the strongest in the entire vitamin category, driven by epidemiological evidence linking adequate Vitamin D status to lower risk of multiple chronic conditions.
Where it is used
- Animal feed: poultry, swine, aquaculture, and dairy fortification; the highest-volume application
- Dairy fortification: fortified milk (mandatory in many regulated markets), yogurt, and dairy alternatives
- Dietary supplements: standalone Vitamin D and multivitamin formulations
- Pharmaceutical applications: tablets, capsules, soft gels, oral drops, injectable preparations
- Infant formula fortification
- Fortified breakfast cereals, breads, orange juice, and plant-based milks
- Vegan and plant-based supplements (lichen-derived D3)
- Public health programs in regions with limited sunlight exposure
