Description
A natural Vitamin E concentrate containing the four tocopherol isomers (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta) in the proportions native to vegetable-oil distillate. Functions as a natural-positioning antioxidant in food and feed applications. Distinct from alpha-Tocopherol supplements because the gamma and delta isomers in this concentrate provide superior antioxidant activity compared with isolated alpha-tocopherol.
Yellow to brownish-red viscous oily liquid. Soluble in fats, oils, and food-grade ethanol; insoluble in water. Light-sensitive and oxygen-sensitive; supplied under nitrogen blanket.
We supply food-grade Mixed Tocopherols Concentrate from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Non-GMO and identity-preserved grades are available where supply-chain documentation is required.
Common market grades are differentiated by total tocopherol content: 30 percent (cost-effective antioxidant grade for animal feed and pet food), 50 percent (the workhorse food-application grade), 70 percent (premium food and supplement grade), and 90 percent or higher (concentrated supplement and pharmaceutical grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total tocopherols (HPLC), individual isomer breakdown, peroxide value, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Mixed Tocopherols Concentrate is produced from soybean oil deodorizer distillate, a byproduct of vegetable-oil refining that is naturally rich in tocopherols, sterols, and squalene. Industrial recovery involves molecular distillation, crystallization, and concentration to yield concentrates of defined tocopherol content.
The natural mixture contains all four tocopherol isomers: alpha-tocopherol (the form with highest Vitamin E nutritional activity), and beta, gamma, and delta-tocopherol (which have lower Vitamin E activity but higher antioxidant potency in lipid systems). In typical soybean-derived concentrate, gamma-tocopherol is the most abundant isomer (50 to 60 percent of total tocopherols), with alpha at 10 to 20 percent, delta at 20 to 30 percent, and beta at low single digits.
For food and feed antioxidant applications the gamma and delta isomers are more valuable than alpha because their antioxidant chemistry in oils is more effective. This is why Mixed Tocopherols Concentrate (preserving the natural isomer profile) is preferred over isolated alpha-Tocopherol for antioxidant function, even though alpha is the form preferred for Vitamin E nutrition supplements.
Regulated as E306 in the EU, classified as Generally Recognized as Safe by the U.S. FDA, listed in pharmacopoeias as natural Vitamin E source, and approved by JECFA with an Acceptable Daily Intake of 0.15 to 2 mg per kg body weight depending on isomer.
Strategic position is dominant in the natural antioxidant segment of food and feed applications. Synergy with ascorbyl palmitate (which regenerates oxidized tocopheryl radicals back to active tocopherol) and with rosemary extract drives most commercial natural-antioxidant blend formulations.
Where it is used
- Vegetable oils, fats, and oil-containing foods: the dominant natural-positioning antioxidant globally
- Fish oil and omega-3 supplements: protects highly unsaturated fatty acids from oxidation
- Animal feed and pet food: the leading natural antioxidant alongside rosemary extract
- Meat products: extends shelf life and protects color in fresh and processed meat
- Bakery products containing fats and shortening
- Snack foods, fried snacks, and nut-based confectionery
- Cosmetic skincare, sunscreen, and lipid-based personal-care formulations
- Pharmaceutical oil-based and topical preparations
- Dietary supplement Vitamin E formulations
- Pre-blended antioxidant systems combining Mixed Tocopherols with ascorbyl palmitate and rosemary extract
