Description
Purified beta-1,3/1,6-glucan from Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell wall, a recognized innate immune activator and disease resistance enhancer in monogastric and aquatic species.
Off-white to pale yellow free-flowing powder. Insoluble in water but disperses to form a suspension. Stable through pelleting and standard feed mill handling.
We supply feed-grade Beta-Glucan from manufacturers in China holding ISO, FAMI-QS, and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include 70 percent and 85 percent beta-glucan content. Higher-purity grades (≥ 85 percent) are used in aquaculture and premium poultry programs where dose per kilogram of feed is critical.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering beta-glucan content, protein, ash, moisture, and microbiology.
Introduction
Beta-1,3/1,6-glucan is recognized as a pathogen-associated molecular pattern by Dectin-1 receptors on macrophages, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. Recognition triggers the innate immune cascade including cytokine release, phagocytosis activation, and respiratory burst, priming the animal to respond more rapidly to subsequent pathogen exposure.
The molecular structure that drives activity is the branched beta-1,3 backbone with beta-1,6 side chains. Linear beta-glucans from cereals (oats, barley) have very different solubility and immune profiles and are not interchangeable with yeast-derived material for immune modulation.
Purification level matters because crude yeast cell wall delivers beta-glucan at 20 to 30 percent purity together with mannan and protein, while purified beta-glucan delivers 70 to 85 percent in a single ingredient. The purified form is preferred in shrimp aquaculture, where viral disease pressure (white spot, EHP) makes innate immune priming a primary management tool.
Approved as a feed material globally.
Where it is used
- Aquaculture feeds (shrimp, salmonids, tilapia) for disease resistance against viral and bacterial pathogens
- Broiler and layer feeds for immune priming before vaccination and during disease challenges
- Piglet weaner feeds for innate immunity during the post-weaning challenge
- Sow lactation diets for piglet immune transfer through colostrum
- Calf milk replacers and starter feeds
- Companion animal diets for immune support
- Disease-recovery feeding programs in all species
- Component of multi-active immunity and gut health premixes
