01 — Overview

Description

The sodium salt of the glycine conjugate of cholic acid, a fully conjugated bile salt with strong surfactant activity at physiological pH. More water-soluble and more effective at micelle formation in the small intestine than free bile acids.

White to off-white crystalline powder. Highly soluble in water and stable through pelleting at standard feed mill temperatures.

We supply feed-grade Sodium Glycocholate from manufacturers in China holding ISO, FAMI-QS, and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include pure sodium glycocholate (≥ 95 percent), and conjugated bile salt blends marketed for poultry, swine, and aquaculture programs.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, moisture, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Conjugated bile salts are the physiological active form of bile in the intestinal lumen. In the liver, cholic and chenodeoxycholic acids are conjugated with glycine or taurine to produce stronger, more water-soluble surfactants that resist precipitation at intestinal pH.

Sodium Glycocholate is the predominant bile salt in the bile of pigs, cattle, and most poultry, and is therefore the form most consistent with the species' own endogenous bile profile when supplemented.

The functional benefit in feed is improved fat micellization, which increases the apparent digestibility of long-chain fatty acids and the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as pigments such as lutein, zeaxanthin, and astaxanthin. The effect is most pronounced in young animals with limited bile production capacity, in fast-growing broilers fed energy-dense diets, and in shrimp during molting and stress periods.

Approved as a feed additive in China, the EU, and other major livestock markets.

03 — Applications

Where it is used

  • Broiler feeds with high vegetable oil or animal fat inclusion
  • Layer feeds for yolk color development through improved carotenoid absorption
  • Piglet starter and weaner feeds containing added fat
  • Shrimp and finfish aquaculture feeds for hepatopancreas support
  • High-energy ruminant feeds and milk replacers
  • Companion animal therapeutic diets for fat malabsorption
  • Component of fat-utilization and bile-acid premixes
  • Antibiotic-free production programs targeting improved feed efficiency
