01 — Overview

Description

A 1:1 lipidated peptide complex of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 (Pal-GHK) and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (Pal-GQPR), supplied as a pre-formulated cosmetic ingredient targeting collagen synthesis stimulation and inflammatory signaling reduction. The benchmark signal-peptide complex of modern anti-aging cosmetic formulation.

Clear to pale yellow viscous liquid (the dominant trade form, supplied as 100 ppm total peptide in glycerin-water-butylene glycol carrier) or freeze-dried powder for anhydrous formulations. Fully water-soluble. Stable across the cosmetic pH range with peak stability at pH 5 to 7.

We supply cosmetic-grade Matrixyl 3000 from manufacturers in China holding ISO 22716, ISO 9001, Halal and Kosher certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include the standard 100 ppm aqueous-glycerin solution (the original Sederma formulation reference), 500 ppm concentrated solution for low-MOQ users, and freeze-dried peptide complex powder for anhydrous balm and stick formulations. Typical finished-product use is 3 to 8 percent of the standard solution.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering HPLC purity of each peptide component, peptide ratio, preservative content, color, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Matrixyl 3000 was developed by Sederma (Croda group) in the early 2000s as a successor to the original Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Pal-KTTKS), with the goal of combining a collagen-stimulating peptide and an inflammation-modulating peptide in a single ingredient. The product launched commercially in 2003 and became the global reference cosmetic peptide complex through the 2010s.

Industrial production is by solid-phase peptide synthesis of the two component tripeptide and tetrapeptide sequences, followed by N-terminal palmitoylation with palmitoyl chloride to add the lipid anchor that drives skin penetration. The two purified palmitoyl peptides are then blended in 1:1 mass ratio and dissolved in the glycerin-water-butylene glycol carrier matrix.

Regulatory status is that of a listed cosmetic ingredient in CosIng, the PCPC INCI dictionary, and China IECIC. No fixed concentration limit. EU SCCS has not flagged the component peptides for restriction.

Clinical evidence supports Sederma's published data showing reduction in wrinkle depth and improvement in dermal density at finished-product use levels of 3 to 8 percent of the standard 100 ppm solution over 8 to 12 weeks. Mechanism is positioned as collagen IV and fibronectin synthesis upregulation, with secondary anti-inflammatory effects from the GQPR tetrapeptide.

Strategically, Matrixyl 3000 is the most-used signal peptide complex in the global cosmetic market, present in thousands of finished products from mass to prestige tiers. The Ordinary's Buffet serum anchors mass-market peptide awareness and continues to expand the category globally.
