01 — Overview

Description

Cold-pressed oil from hulled hemp seeds (Cannabis sativa L. hearts), with a naturally balanced ratio of omega-6 linoleic acid to omega-3 alpha-linolenic acid close to the 3:1 ratio considered optimal for human nutrition.

Light green to medium green liquid with a grassy, nutty flavor and aroma. Contains approximately 75% to 80% polyunsaturated fatty acids and significant levels of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a rare omega-6 fatty acid associated with anti-inflammatory effects.

We supply food-grade Hemp Hearts Oil from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Non-GMO, organic-compliant, and certified-organic grades are available on request. THC content is verified below regulatory thresholds.

Common market grades include Cold-Pressed Virgin (unrefined, green color), Refined (lightened color and milder flavor), and Microencapsulated Powder for dry-blend applications.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering fatty acid profile, GLA content, peroxide value, acid value, THC residual, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L. with THC content below regulatory thresholds, typically 0.3%) has been cultivated for seed, fiber, and oil for at least 6,000 years across China, Central Asia, and Europe. Modern commercial cultivation expanded rapidly after regulatory reclassification in the 2000s and 2010s.

Hemp Hearts Oil is produced by mechanical cold-pressing of hulled hemp seeds (the inner kernels, free of the fibrous outer shell). Processing temperatures stay below 40 °C to preserve the polyunsaturated fatty acid profile and the trace tocopherols and chlorophyll that give the oil its characteristic green color.

Regulatory status varies by country and is determined by THC content rather than by hemp itself. The European Food Safety Authority permits hemp seed oil as a food ingredient. The U.S. FDA recognizes hemp seed oil as Generally Recognized as Safe under specific conditions, including a THC limit. Chinese regulations permit hemp seed and hemp seed oil as conventional foods.

The defining nutritional feature is the fatty acid profile: approximately 55% linoleic acid (omega-6), 20% alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3), and 3% to 6% gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This is the only common edible oil naturally close to the recommended omega-6:omega-3 dietary ratio of 3:1 to 4:1.

Strategic positioning in the supplement market is built on three claims: balanced omega ratio, presence of GLA (otherwise found only in evening primrose, borage, and blackcurrant seed oils), and the cultural and dietary appeal of plant-based hemp-derived nutrition.
