01 — Overview

Description

Cold-pressed oil from the kernels of Corylus avellana hazelnuts, frequently roasted before pressing to develop the characteristic intense hazelnut aroma. Very high oleic acid content (75 to 83 percent) places it close to camellia and high-oleic sunflower oil in fatty-acid profile.

Pale yellow to amber clear liquid with a pronounced toasted hazelnut aroma in the roasted-press grade.

We supply Hazelnut Oil from manufacturers in China with cross-border sourcing from Turkey (the dominant producer), Italy, and Spain, holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include roasted virgin (for finishing and gourmet use), unroasted virgin (for cosmetic and milder culinary applications), and refined grade.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering fatty-acid composition, authenticity markers, acid value, peroxide value, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Turkey produces approximately 70 percent of world hazelnuts, primarily along the Black Sea coast where the climate suits the crop. Italy is the second-largest producer with notable cultivation in Piedmont, source of premium Tonda Gentile hazelnuts used in fine confectionery.

The oil is high in oleic acid and tocopherols, with a fatty-acid profile that confers excellent oxidative stability for a tree-nut oil. Cold-pressing from roasted kernels develops the intense aroma valued in gourmet culinary applications.

Adulteration with cheaper oils, particularly high-oleic sunflower, is a recognized issue in the hazelnut oil market. Stable-isotope and aroma-compound analysis support authenticity verification.

The cosmetic applications exploit the oil's light, non-greasy skin feel and natural vitamin E content. Hazelnut oil absorbs more rapidly than almond oil and is often selected for facial-oil and serum applications where heavier carriers would be unsuitable.
