Description
The reduced, electron-rich form of Coenzyme Q10. Ubiquinol is the bioactive state in which CoQ10 carries out its function as a cellular antioxidant and electron carrier in the mitochondrial respiratory chain.
Milky white to pale yellow powder or oil-based dispersion. Significantly more bioavailable than the oxidized ubiquinone form in older adults and in subjects with reduced reductase activity.
We supply food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade Ubiquinol from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Produced by yeast fermentation followed by stabilization in lipid or microencapsulated matrix.
Common market grades include neat crystalline Ubiquinol 98%, oil-dispersed 10% to 30% for softgel filling, and microencapsulated 10% beadlets for tablets and powder blends.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, ubiquinone ratio, heavy metals, residual solvents, and microbiology.
Introduction
Coenzyme Q10 was first isolated from beef heart mitochondria in 1957 by Frederick Crane at the University of Wisconsin. The reduced form, Ubiquinol, accounts for over 90 percent of total CoQ10 in healthy young plasma but declines with age and with statin therapy.
Commercial Ubiquinol became available in stabilized form in the mid-2000s following work by Kaneka of Japan on lipid-matrix protection. Chinese manufacturers entered the market in the 2010s with yeast-fermentation routes and competitive cost structure.
Clinical and biochemical evidence supports use for mitochondrial support, cardiovascular endothelial function, statin-induced myalgia, and fertility outcomes. Typical adult dosing ranges from 50 mg to 200 mg daily.
The principal handling consideration is oxidation: Ubiquinol reverts to ubiquinone on exposure to air and light. Commercial material is therefore packed under nitrogen in lipid or microencapsulated form and formulated into softgels or beadlets that protect the reduced state through shelf life.
