01 — Overview

Description

Bleached white beeswax (Cera Alba) produced from refined yellow beeswax by oxidative or activated-carbon bleaching to remove residual color and pigments. The pharmaceutical and premium-cosmetic standard form of beeswax.

White to pale cream pellet, slab, or block wax. Faint to no aroma. Melting range approximately 62 to 65 °C, identical to yellow beeswax in physical properties apart from color.

We supply White Beeswax from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Pharmacopoeial-grade material conforming to USP, EP, JP, and BP specifications is available.

Common market grades include USP/NF Pharmaceutical Grade, EP Pharmaceutical Grade, Cosmetic-Grade Bleached, and Food-Grade Bleached for confectionery and food coating use.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering acid value, ester value, saponification value, melting point, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

White beeswax is the bleached counterpart of yellow refined beeswax (Cera Flava). The bleaching process removes naturally occurring pollen-derived pigments while leaving the underlying wax chemistry unchanged.

Production starts with refined yellow beeswax that has been filtered and standardized. The wax is then bleached either by activated carbon or hydrogen peroxide treatment under controlled conditions, yielding a white to pale cream product that meets pharmacopoeial color specifications. Subsequent steps include filtration, deodorization, and pelletizing or slab forming.

Regulated as E901 in the EU, recognized as Generally Recognized as Safe by the U.S. FDA, and listed in USP, NF, EP, JP, and BP pharmacopoeias under the name Cera Alba.

The white grade exists because finished products in pharmaceutical cream, cosmetic stick, and food-glazing applications often require neutral color. While yellow beeswax serves wherever amber tone is acceptable or desired, the white grade is essential whenever color contribution from the wax would compromise the finished product appearance.
