Description
An organosulfur compound used as a dietary source of bioavailable sulfur for joint, connective-tissue, and skin support. Naturally occurring in trace amounts in many fresh foods and produced industrially by distillation and crystallization.
Colorless to white crystalline powder or flakes. Odorless to faintly bitter. Highly water-soluble. Thermally stable through tableting and granulation processes.
We supply food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade MSM from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Produced by hydrogen peroxide oxidation of dimethyl sulfoxide followed by multiple-stage distillation and crystallization.
Common market grades include OptiMSM-equivalent multi-distilled material, standard food-grade MSM 99.9%, and pharmaceutical-grade MSM USP. Particle sizes range from fine powder for tablets through coarse crystals for capsules and bulk powders.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, DMSO residue, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
MSM is the oxidation product of dimethyl sulfoxide and one of the simplest organosulfur molecules. It occurs naturally as a metabolite in the sulfur cycle and is present in low concentrations in milk, coffee, tea, and many fresh vegetables.
The compound entered the nutraceutical channel in the 1980s following work by Robert Herschler and Stanley Jacob at Oregon Health Sciences University. Joint-health and connective-tissue applications now constitute the largest end use, often in combination with glucosamine sulfate or chondroitin.
Commercial purity is determined by the distillation process. Multi-distilled grades minimize residual DMSO and other process impurities, command a price premium, and are preferred by premium and pharmaceutical-channel customers.
Typical adult dosing ranges from 1.5 grams to 6 grams daily. Excellent gastrointestinal tolerance allows the high doses required for joint and recovery effects without the gastrointestinal limits that constrain some other ingredients.
