Introduction
This SKU is the micronized format of Konjac glucomannan, distinct from coarser Konjac grades by particle size and from standard fine flour by being one step finer.
Production starts with standard Konjac fine flour, then passes the powder through fine-grinding mills with 200 to 300 mesh classification screens to yield uniform micronized particles. The additional milling step adds cost but produces a meaningfully different functional profile.
Regulatory status follows that of standard Konjac (E425 in the EU, GRAS in the U.S., JECFA-approved without ADI limit), with the same restrictions on jelly mini-cup applications.
The molecule's functional behavior at full hydration matches standard Konjac. The differentiator is hydration kinetics: micronized Konjac reaches functional viscosity in 30 to 60 seconds versus 5 to 15 minutes for standard Konjac, supporting use in instant-mix and direct-consumer applications.
Strategic positioning serves applications where mixing time is constrained or where finished-product texture must be exceptionally smooth. Cost is meaningfully higher than standard Konjac fine flour, limiting use to premium and instant-mix applications.
