Introduction
This SKU is the premium-clarity variant of Konjac Gum, distinct from standard Konjac (catalog id 7528) by additional purification that removes the protein, starch, and pigment impurities responsible for the cream-color appearance of conventional Konjac in solution.
Production starts with standard high-glucomannan Konjac powder, then proceeds through additional alcohol washing and chromatographic purification cycles to remove impurities. The resulting product is chemically identical to standard Konjac at the polymer level, with the differentiator being purity and visual clarity.
Regulatory status follows that of standard Konjac (E425 in the EU, GRAS in the U.S., JECFA-approved without ADI limit), with the same restrictions on jelly mini-cup applications.
The molecule's functional behavior matches standard Konjac in viscosity, gel formation, and water-binding capacity. The differentiator is finished-product transparency: high-transparency Konjac produces solutions with 95 percent or higher transmittance versus 75 to 85 percent for standard Konjac.
Strategic positioning serves premium clear-beverage applications and decorative gel uses where the visual difference between high-transparency and standard Konjac is commercially significant. Cost is meaningfully higher than standard Konjac, limiting use to premium-positioning applications where transparency justifies the cost premium.
