Description
The spray-dried powder format of Gum Arabic, optimized for industrial-scale beverage emulsion and confectionery manufacturing. The dominant commercial format globally, distinct from natural tear and granular formats by particle morphology and hydration behavior.
Pale yellow to amber free-flowing fine powder. Spray-drying produces uniform particles that hydrate cleanly in cold water without the prolonged soaking required for natural granular Gum Arabic.
We supply food-grade Gum Arabic Powder from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Source documentation (Acacia senegal versus Acacia seyal) is available where required.
Common market grades include Acacia senegal Spray-Dried (the premium emulsion-grade), Acacia seyal Spray-Dried (cost-effective for general food applications), Pre-Hydrolyzed Spray-Dried Gum Arabic (for ultra-fast hydration), and pre-blended Gum Arabic with maltodextrin or sucrose carriers for spray-drying flavor encapsulation.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total solids, ash, nitrogen content, optical rotation, and microbiology.
Introduction
This SKU is the spray-dried powder format of Gum Arabic, the dominant commercial format used in industrial food, beverage, and pharmaceutical manufacturing globally. The active ingredient is identical to the parent Gum Arabic catalog entry (id 7598).
Industrial production starts with natural Gum Arabic tears or granules, dissolved in water, filtered to remove impurities, and spray-dried to yield uniform free-flowing powder. The spray-drying step is critical: it produces particles with optimized morphology for rapid cold-water hydration that natural granular Gum Arabic cannot match.
Regulatory status is identical to natural Gum Arabic (E414 in the EU, GRAS in the U.S., listed in BP/USP/EP/JP pharmacopoeias, JECFA-approved without ADI limit).
The molecule and its functional behavior in beverage emulsions are identical to natural Gum Arabic. The differentiator is hydration kinetics: spray-dried powder reaches full functional viscosity in 30 to 60 seconds; natural granular Gum Arabic requires 12 to 24 hours of soaking.
Strategic positioning is the workhorse format for industrial-scale manufacturing where in-line hydration matters. Premium specialty applications and traditional confectionery may still use natural granular grades, but the spray-dried format dominates the soft-drink, encapsulation, and pharmaceutical segments.
Where it is used
- Soft drink emulsions: orange, cola, and citrus beverages; the dominant emulsifier in this category
- Spray-drying flavor encapsulation: oil-soluble flavor systems, color encapsulation, and vitamin protection
- Confectionery: gummies, marshmallows, lozenges, and panned candies
- Wine clarification and beer foam stabilization
- Bakery products: glazes and surface coatings
- Pharmaceutical applications: tablet binders and emulsifying agents
- Cosmetic and personal-care: lipstick binders and skincare emulsions
- Pet food palatant systems and flavor coating
- Industrial applications: printing inks and adhesives
