01 — Overview

Description

Cold-pressed or refined oil from the seeds of Camellia oleifera, the principal commercial source of edible camellia oil in southern China. Exceptionally high oleic acid content (78 to 84 percent), exceeding even olive oil, supports cardiovascular health positioning.

Pale yellow to golden clear liquid with a mild, characteristic aroma in the cold-pressed grade. Refined grade is nearly odorless.

We supply Camellia Tea Seed Oil from manufacturers in China with established cultivation in Hunan, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang, holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include cold-pressed virgin (for premium culinary), RBD refined for general cooking, and high-oleic specialty grades for nutraceutical positioning.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering fatty-acid composition, acid value, peroxide value, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Camellia oleifera is a small evergreen tree cultivated across southern China for both ornamental flowers and oil seeds. The oil has been used in Chinese cuisine and traditional medicine for over 2,000 years.

The crop is sometimes called Chinese olive due to the similar fatty-acid profile, though it is genetically unrelated to true olive (Olea europaea). The oleic acid content typically exceeds olive oil, reaching 80 percent or higher in selected cultivars and growing regions.

National policy in China has supported camellia oil expansion as a domestically-grown alternative to imported cooking oils. Acreage has grown substantially since 2010, supported by government cultivation programs and the recognition of nutritional benefits comparable to olive oil at lower cost.

Export-market interest has grown for both culinary and cosmetic applications, with Japanese and Korean cosmetic brands incorporating camellia oil in hair and skin formulations following traditional use as a hair oil.
