Description
A polyphenol-rich extract from Black Chokeberry fruit (Aronia melanocarpa), among the highest-ORAC-value fruit extracts commercially available. Standardized to anthocyanin and proanthocyanidin content for use in antioxidant supplements, functional beverages, and natural food coloring applications.
Dark purple to black free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble. The anthocyanin fraction is pH and heat sensitive in solution.
We supply food-grade Aronia Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Organic-certified grades are available.
Common market grades include 5 percent Anthocyanins (whole-fruit juice powder grade), 15 percent Anthocyanins (standard supplement grade), 25 percent Anthocyanins (premium grade), and 25 percent Anthocyanins / 50 percent Polyphenols (high-end concentrated grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total anthocyanins (pH differential), cyanidin-3-galactoside content (HPLC), total polyphenols, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Aronia is native to eastern North America and was developed as a fruit crop in central and eastern Europe through the twentieth century. The fruit has among the highest ORAC values measured in commercial fruits, driven by exceptionally high anthocyanin and proanthocyanidin concentrations.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water or hydroalcoholic extraction of frozen or dried Aronia fruit, followed by concentration, optional purification, and spray-drying with maltodextrin carrier to defined anthocyanin content.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA (GRAS) and the European Food Safety Authority. Anthocyanins are regulated as a natural food colorant (E163 in the EU).
Clinical evidence is most developed for blood-pressure reduction and endothelial function, with growing evidence for glucose-metabolism markers in pre-diabetic populations. The compound class shares mechanistic pathways with bilberry and elderberry anthocyanins but at substantially higher native fruit concentration.
Strategic positioning combines cardiovascular-support supplements (the highest unit-value segment), premium superfruit functional beverages, and natural food coloring applications in regulated markets.
