01 — Overview

Description

A natural polyphenolic compound extracted primarily from Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) or grape skin. Standardized to defined trans-resveratrol content for use in anti-aging supplements, cardiovascular-support formulations, and premium cosmetic skincare.

Off-white to light brown free-flowing powder. Limited water solubility; freely soluble in alcohol and oils.

We supply food-grade Resveratrol from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include 50 percent trans-resveratrol (cost-effective baseline), 98 percent trans-resveratrol (the supplement workhorse), 99 percent trans-resveratrol (premium pharmaceutical grade), Grape Skin Resveratrol (natural-positioning variant), and Pterostilbene (the methylated analog with improved bioavailability).

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering trans-resveratrol content (HPLC), cis-resveratrol impurity, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Resveratrol was identified in 1939 and rose to commercial prominence in the 1990s through the 'French paradox' hypothesis that linked moderate red wine consumption to cardiovascular protection. The compound is a stilbenoid polyphenol produced by plants in response to fungal infection and physical injury.

Industrial production proceeds primarily by extraction from Japanese knotweed roots (Polygonum cuspidatum), the highest natural source of resveratrol at concentrations 50 to 100 times higher than grape skin. Solvent extraction followed by chromatographic purification yields standardized 50 to 99 percent trans-resveratrol grades.

Recognized as a permitted food ingredient in many jurisdictions; classified as a Novel Food in the EU with specific approvals. The compound has been the subject of extensive clinical research over the past two decades, with mixed results for longevity and cardiovascular endpoints but reasonably consistent evidence for blood-pressure and metabolic markers at appropriate doses.

Strategic positioning targets the anti-aging and longevity supplement market specifically, where consumer demand for cellular-health and senescence-related claims supports premium pricing. Cosmetic skincare applications represent the second-largest commercial segment.
