01 — Overview

Description

Cold-pressed or refined oil from sweet almond kernels (Prunus dulcis), the cultivated almond used for food and cosmetic applications. Rich in oleic acid (60 to 75 percent) and linoleic acid (20 to 30 percent), with naturally occurring vitamin E.

Pale yellow clear liquid with a mild, characteristic almond aroma in the cold-pressed grade; deodorized refined grade is nearly odorless.

We supply food and cosmetic-grade Sweet Almond Oil from manufacturers in China with cross-border sourcing from California, Spain, and Australia, holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include cold-pressed virgin (unrefined), refined-bleached-deodorized (RBD), and organic-certified material.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering fatty-acid composition, acid value, peroxide value, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Sweet almond oil is one of the oldest cultivated oils, with documented use in Mediterranean cosmetics and medicine dating to antiquity. The sweet almond cultivar is distinguished from bitter almond by the absence of significant amygdalin content, making it safe for direct cosmetic and food use.

California is the dominant global producer of almonds, supplying approximately 80 percent of world production. Spain and Australia are the second and third largest producers, with smaller programs in Iran, Turkey, and Morocco.

Cold-pressed virgin oil retains naturally occurring vitamin E (tocopherols at 4 to 10 mg per 100 g) and a characteristic light nutty aroma. RBD grades remove the aroma and improve shelf life at the cost of vitamin E content.

Cosmetic use is the largest commercial application, where almond oil's emollient profile, light texture, and gentle skin compatibility make it a foundational carrier oil in massage, baby-care, and hair-care formulations.
