01 — Overview

Description

A cost-effective sulfate salt form of L-Lysine produced by fermentation, retaining a portion of the fermentation broth biomass for additional nutritional value. The dominant low-cost lysine source for animal feed fortification, particularly in swine, poultry, and aquaculture applications.

Light brown to brown granules. The granular format provides good mixing and handling properties for premix manufacturing and compound feed production.

We supply feed-grade L-Lysine Sulfate from manufacturers in China holding ISO and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Typical commercial grades provide 50 to 70 percent L-Lysine content along with residual fermentation biomass that contributes additional amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. The granular sulfate salt is selected where its lower unit cost relative to L-Lysine HCl is the deciding factor for high-volume feed applications.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering lysine assay, moisture, crude protein, residue on ignition, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

L-Lysine Sulfate is produced by submerged aerobic fermentation using engineered Corynebacterium glutamicum strains on glucose feedstock, followed by a simplified downstream process that retains the fermentation broth biomass rather than purifying to crystalline L-Lysine HCl.

The retained biomass contributes residual amino acids, B-vitamins, and trace minerals, providing nutritional value beyond the lysine content alone. This processing approach yields a meaningfully lower cost per unit lysine compared to the crystalline HCl salt.

L-Lysine Sulfate is approved as a feed additive in the European Union, the United States, China, and other major livestock markets. EU authorization sets minimum lysine content and limits on impurities and biomass composition.

The sulfate counter-ion contributes sulfur to the diet, which can offer a marginal benefit in some species and dietary contexts where sulfur amino acid balance is relevant. The chloride-free profile is also advantageous in formulations sensitive to chloride load.

Strategic positioning is dominated by cost-sensitive feed manufacturing, particularly swine production in regions where corn-soy diets demand high lysine fortification rates. L-Lysine HCl remains preferred for premium feed and human applications where the higher-purity crystalline form is required.

03 — Applications

Where it is used

  • Swine feed: nursing, grower, and finisher diet fortification; the dominant single application
  • Poultry feed: broiler and layer diet amino-acid balancing
  • Aquaculture feed: fish and shrimp diet formulation
  • Ruminant nutrition: rumen-bypass lysine supplementation
  • Compound feed and premix manufacturing
  • Pet food fortification for cost-sensitive formulations
  • Specialty livestock applications including game and exotic species
