01 — Overview

Description

A non-nutritive high-intensity sweetener. 200 times the sweetness of sucrose, with zero calories.

White crystalline powder. Stable across the full pH and temperature range of industrial processing, including baking, pasteurization, and UHT.

We supply food-grade Ace-K from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include standard 100-mesh food-grade powder, granular 20 to 60 mesh for tabletop blends, and finer micronized grades (passing 100 mesh) for beverage and pharmaceutical formulation where rapid dissolution is required.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Worldwide shipping at room temperature. Batch-level COA.

02 — Background

Introduction

Acesulfame Potassium was first synthesized by Hoechst AG in 1967 and approved for global food use from the 1980s onward.

It is regulated as E950 in the EU, classified GRAS by the U.S. FDA, and approved by JECFA with an Acceptable Daily Intake of 15 mg per kg body weight.

Unlike aspartame, Ace-K survives baking, retort, and UHT processing without loss of sweetness, and it is not metabolized by the body.

In practice it is rarely used alone. Formulators blend it with sucralose at a 1:1 to 2:1 ratio, or with aspartame, to round the sweetness curve and mask the metallic note that any single high-intensity sweetener leaves at high doses.

03 — Applications

Where it is used

  • Carbonated soft drinks, sports drinks, and ready-to-drink teas, dosed at 30 to 110 mg per liter, usually blended with sucralose or aspartame
  • Sugar-free and reduced-sugar dairy applications: yogurt, flavored milk, ice cream; heat-stable through pasteurization
  • Tabletop sweetener formats: sachets, tablets, liquid drops for foodservice and retail
  • Sugar-free baked goods that require stability through oven temperatures and long shelf life
  • Sugar-free chewing gum, hard candies, lozenges, confectionery coatings
  • Pharmaceutical syrups, cough preparations, effervescent tablets; masks bitter actives
  • Oral care products: toothpaste, mouthwash, chewable dental tablets
  • Dietary supplements, protein powders, meal-replacement products
  • Diabetic and clinical nutrition formulas requiring non-glycemic sweetening
  • Flavored alcoholic beverages and ready-to-drink cocktails
