Description
A polyphenolic extract from Pomegranate peel (Punica granatum), standardized to ellagic acid or to total polyphenols. The peel contains substantially higher concentrations of the characteristic ellagitannins than the edible arils, making it the preferred industrial feedstock for standardized extracts.
Yellow-brown to dark brown free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble.
We supply food-grade Pomegranate Peel Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include 40 percent Ellagic Acid (the workhorse supplement grade), 70 percent Ellagic Acid (premium grade), 90 percent Ellagic Acid (high-end concentrated grade), and 40 percent Polyphenols whole-fruit-positioned grades.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering ellagic acid content (HPLC), total polyphenols, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Pomegranate has been cultivated for over 5,000 years across the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, where it features in Persian, Greek, and Indian medical traditions. The fruit emerged as a superfruit category leader in Western markets during the 2000s following research on its polyphenolic content.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water extraction of dried Pomegranate peels (the polyphenol-rich co-product of juice manufacturing), followed by chromatographic purification, decolorization, and spray-drying to defined ellagic acid content.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA, the European Food Safety Authority, and equivalent regulators worldwide.
Ellagitannins from Pomegranate are metabolized by gut microbiota into urolithins, the compounds responsible for many of the observed biological effects in human cells. Clinical evidence supports applications in cardiovascular health, inflammation markers, and cognitive function in older adults.
Strategic positioning combines premium antioxidant supplements, cosmetic skincare, and functional beverage applications leveraging the superfruit consumer positioning of Pomegranate.
