01 — Overview

Description

A salt form combining L-carnitine with fumaric acid, an intermediate in the Krebs cycle. Provides the metabolic benefits of both components in a single ingredient: fatty acid transport into mitochondria via L-carnitine plus Krebs cycle support via fumarate.

White crystals or white crystalline powder. Good water solubility. Stable in dry storage with good handling characteristics for tablet and capsule manufacturing.

We supply food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade L-Carnitine Fumarate from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include Standard Food Grade (98 percent minimum assay), Pharmaceutical Grade meeting USP/EP specifications, and pre-blended carnitine fumarate with magnesium or B-vitamins for cardiovascular-support supplement formulations.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, specific rotation, fumaric acid content, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

L-Carnitine Fumarate is formed by combining L-carnitine with fumaric acid, an intermediate in the Krebs cycle. The salt combination delivers the established metabolic benefits of L-carnitine (long-chain fatty acid transport into mitochondria for beta-oxidation) alongside fumarate, which directly enters the citric acid cycle to support cellular energy production.

Industrial production starts from fermentation-derived L-carnitine, which is reacted with fumaric acid and crystallized to yield the fumarate salt. The product contains approximately 58 percent L-carnitine and 41 percent fumaric acid by mass.

The fumarate salt is recognized as a permitted dietary supplement ingredient in major markets. Listed specifications align with USP and European Pharmacopoeia monographs for carnitine products.

The combination form is preferred in cardiovascular and endurance positioning because both metabolic effects act on the same pathway: carnitine moves fatty acids into mitochondria, and fumarate fuels the ATP-generating Krebs cycle that completes the energy-production sequence. This dual action underpins commercial positioning for heart-health and endurance applications.

Strategic positioning combines cardiovascular health (the highest unit value segment), endurance sports nutrition, and broader energy and fat metabolism supplement applications.
