01 — Overview

Description

Standard-DP chicory inulin produced in granular form for cold-water solubility, easy handling in dry blends, and reduced dustiness compared to powder grades. Average DP of approximately 10 to 12.

White free-flowing granules. Mild sweetness (approximately 10 percent of sucrose). Fully soluble in cold water with mild stirring.

We supply food-grade Inulin GR from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.

Common market grades include standard Inulin GR granules 0.2 to 1.0 mm, fine granular for stick-pack applications, and agglomerated instant grades.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering inulin content, free sugars, granulometry, heavy metals, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Granular inulin was developed to address the handling challenges of fine inulin powder: dustiness, slow cold-water dispersion, and tendency to clump in dry-blend operations. The granular form, produced by agglomeration with a fluidized-bed process, retains the same chemical composition and fiber functionality as the parent powder.

Standard-DP inulin (Inulin GR) contrasts with the long-chain Inulin HP product (30106) in delivering mild sweetness, faster cold-water solubility, and rapid colonic fermentation. It is the preferred grade for beverage and stick-pack applications where rapid cold dispersion is required.

Prebiotic effect on Bifidobacterium is well-established at doses of 5 grams to 10 grams daily. Gastrointestinal tolerance is good in most adults at doses up to 15 grams; higher doses can produce flatulence and bloating in sensitive individuals.

Chinese chicory cultivation, established initially as a coffee substitute crop, has expanded into a robust inulin production base supplying global supplement and food markets.
