Description
The standardized extract of Cotinus coggygria (European Smoketree, smoke bush), a natural source of the flavonoid fisetin and its precursor fustin. Used as a source material for fisetin-standardized senolytic and longevity-positioned dietary supplements.
Yellow to yellow-brown free-flowing powder. Limited water solubility; freely soluble in alcohol.
We supply food-grade Cotinus Coggygria Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include 20 percent Fustin (the cost-effective baseline), 50 percent Fustin, 98 percent Fustin (high-purity precursor grade), 20 percent Fisetin, 50 percent Fisetin, and 98 percent Fisetin (the premium senolytic supplement grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering fisetin and fustin content (HPLC), total flavonoids, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Cotinus coggygria is a deciduous shrub native to southern Europe and central Asia, used historically in traditional European herbal medicine for wound healing and as a natural yellow dye source. The plant has emerged as the dominant commercial source of fisetin since the 2010s, when fisetin gained attention as a candidate senolytic compound (a compound that selectively eliminates senescent cells).
Industrial production proceeds by ethanol or hydroalcoholic extraction of dried Cotinus wood, followed by crystallization and chromatographic purification to defined fisetin or fustin content. The plant is the highest natural source of fisetin among commercially viable feedstocks.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient in many jurisdictions; subject to regulatory consideration in the EU under the Novel Food regulation for high-purity fisetin preparations.
The senolytic positioning of fisetin emerged from Mayo Clinic preclinical research demonstrating selective elimination of senescent cells in animal models. Human clinical trials remain ongoing, but consumer demand has supported substantial commercial growth in the longevity supplement category.
Strategic positioning targets the premium longevity and anti-aging supplement segment specifically, with high-purity fisetin grades commanding substantial price premiums.
