Description
The standardized extract of cultivated Cordyceps (commercially Cordyceps militaris or the CS-4 mycelium strain derived from wild Cordyceps sinensis). Standardized to polysaccharide and cordycepin content. Used in sports nutrition, immune-support, and energy dietary supplements globally.
Brown to dark brown free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble.
We supply food-grade Cordyceps Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. China is the world's leading producer of cultivated Cordyceps.
Common market grades include 10 percent Polysaccharides (cost-effective baseline), 30 percent Polysaccharides (standard supplement grade), 40 percent Polysaccharides (premium grade), 0.2 percent Cordycepin (standardized for the principal nucleoside active), and 1 percent Cordycepin (premium standardized grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering polysaccharide content (UV), cordycepin (HPLC), adenosine, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Cordyceps sinensis is a parasitic fungus traditionally harvested from caterpillar larvae in the high-altitude meadows of the Tibetan plateau, where it has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over a thousand years for energy, immunity, and respiratory support. Wild Cordyceps sinensis is among the most expensive natural medicines globally, supporting the development of cultivated alternatives.
Modern commercial production proceeds by submerged liquid fermentation of Cordyceps mycelium (the CS-4 strain) or solid-state cultivation of Cordyceps militaris, the more accessible related species. Both forms contain the principal active compounds though in different relative proportions.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient in China, and as a traditional food or dietary supplement ingredient in most major markets including the U.S.
The principal active compounds include the beta-glucan-cosmetic-grade-oat" class="underline" style="color: var(--sage-deep); text-decoration-color: var(--sage-deep);">beta-glucan polysaccharides (immune-modulating activity) and cordycepin (3'-deoxyadenosine, with documented antiviral and metabolic effects). Clinical evidence supports endurance and exercise-performance applications at appropriate doses.
Strategic positioning is dominated by sports nutrition endurance supplements, with strong secondary applications in the broader adaptogen and functional mushroom categories.
