Description
A standardized flavonoid complex from common or tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum or Fagopyrum tataricum), characterized by total flavonoid content with rutin as the principal marker compound. Used in cardiovascular-support and capillary-fragility supplements and as a polyphenolic antioxidant fraction in functional food applications.
Light yellow to pale brown free-flowing powder. Limited water solubility; freely soluble in alkaline solutions and hydroalcoholic mixtures.
We supply food-grade Buckwheat Flavonoids from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include 5 percent Total Flavonoids (food-fortification baseline), 30 percent Total Flavonoids (standard supplement grade), 50 percent Total Flavonoids (premium grade), and Tartary Buckwheat Flavonoid Concentrate (higher rutin-content variant from F. tataricum).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total flavonoids (UV), rutin content (HPLC), quercetin content, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Buckwheat is a pseudocereal cultivated for at least 6,000 years in central Asia and now widely grown for grain, flour, and forage. Tartary buckwheat (F. tataricum) contains substantially higher rutin content than common buckwheat and has emerged as the preferred raw material for flavonoid extraction.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water or hydroalcoholic extraction of buckwheat sprouts, flowers, or husks, followed by concentration, purification, and spray-drying to defined total-flavonoid content.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA, the European Food Safety Authority, and equivalent regulators worldwide as a traditional food source.
The rutin-dominant flavonoid profile supports capillary integrity and vascular health claims that have a long history in European phytotherapy. Clinical evidence for chronic venous insufficiency and capillary fragility is reasonably consistent at appropriate doses.
Strategic positioning combines cardiovascular dietary supplements (the dominant premium application), functional food fortification, and traditional medicine product manufacturing in regional Asian markets.
