Description
A concentrated extract powder from Beta vulgaris (red beet root), produced by hot-water or hydroalcoholic extraction and concentrated to a higher solids and active content than basic spray-dried beet juice powder. Standardized to betalain pigment content and nitrate content depending on application positioning.
Deep red to magenta free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble. Naturally low odor compared to the strong earthy notes of fresh beet juice.
We supply food-grade Beet Root Powder Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Organic-certified grades are available.
Common market grades include Beet Root 4:1 Extract (the supplement workhorse), 10:1 concentrate, 0.4 percent Betalains (standard color and supplement grade), 1 percent Betalains (premium color grade), and Nitrate-standardized grades for sports-nutrition positioning.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering betalain content (HPLC or spectrophotometry), nitrate content, color value, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Beta vulgaris (red beet) is a cultivated root vegetable whose deep magenta color comes from the betalain pigments (betacyanins and betaxanthins), a unique nitrogen-containing pigment class distinct from the more common anthocyanins.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water extraction of fresh or dried beet root, followed by concentration and spray-drying. Standardization can target color value, betalain content, or nitrate content depending on application. Nitrate-standardized grades for sports nutrition typically deliver 8 to 12 percent nitrate by weight.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient and natural color (E162 beetroot red) in essentially all jurisdictions.
Sports-nutrition applications grew rapidly after research in the 2000s and 2010s demonstrated that dietary nitrate from beet juice improves exercise economy and endurance performance through nitric oxide pathway activation. The compound class has well-documented effects on blood pressure and endothelial function.
Strategic positioning combines sports nutrition (the highest unit value and fastest growth), natural food colorant applications (the largest volume), and cardiovascular supplements.
