Description
A premium anthocyanin extract from Aronia berry (Aronia melanocarpa, black chokeberry), standardized to 25 percent anthocyanins by HPLC. Aronia is among the highest known natural sources of anthocyanins among edible fruits, with a characteristic cyanidin-glycoside-dominant profile that distinguishes it from Bilberry and Black Currant.
Dark purple to nearly black free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble.
We supply food-grade Aronia Berry Anthocyanins 25% from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Organic-certified grades are available.
Companion market grades include Spray-Dried Aronia Juice Powder (whole-fruit positioning), 5 percent Anthocyanins (cost-effective baseline), 10 percent Anthocyanins (standard supplement grade), and the 25 percent grade documented here (the premium clinically-positioned grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total anthocyanins (HPLC), individual anthocyanin profile, total polyphenols, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Aronia berry is native to North America and was extensively developed as a commercial crop in Eastern Europe (particularly Poland, Russia, and the former Yugoslavia) through the 20th century. The fruit emerged as a premium superfruit category in Western markets during the 2010s following research on its exceptional anthocyanin content.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water or hydroalcoholic extraction of dried Aronia pomace, followed by chromatographic purification and concentration to defined anthocyanin content.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA, the European Food Safety Authority, and equivalent regulators worldwide.
The Aronia anthocyanin profile is dominated by cyanidin-3-galactoside (typically 65 to 70 percent of total anthocyanins), with smaller fractions of cyanidin-3-arabinoside, cyanidin-3-xyloside, and cyanidin-3-glucoside. Clinical evidence supports applications in cardiovascular endothelial function, blood pressure, and lipid markers in cardiovascular-risk populations.
Strategic positioning targets premium cardiovascular and antioxidant supplements, with superfruit consumer positioning supporting price premiums over conventional berry extracts.
