Description
The premium bioavailable form of choline, providing brain-penetrating choline delivery for cognitive and acetylcholine-support applications. The dominant nootropic choline form and a registered pharmaceutical in several European markets.
White to off-white free-flowing powder (50 percent and 85 percent grades on silica carrier) or colorless to pale yellow viscous liquid (pure form). Highly hygroscopic in pure form; requires sealed, moisture-protective packaging.
We supply pharmaceutical-grade and supplement-grade Alpha-GPC from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Alpha-GPC 50 percent powder (on silica carrier, the workhorse supplement grade), Alpha-GPC 85 percent powder (premium supplement grade with reduced silica carrier), Alpha-GPC 99 percent powder (pharmaceutical reference grade), and the pure liquid form for specialty applications.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, free choline, related substances, water content, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Alpha-GPC (L-alpha-glycerophosphorylcholine) is the natural cell-membrane metabolite of phosphatidylcholine and the most efficient delivery form of choline to the brain. The compound crosses the blood-brain barrier intact and is then hydrolyzed to choline and glycerophosphate within neural tissue, providing substrate for acetylcholine synthesis.
Industrial production proceeds either by chemical synthesis from glycidol and choline phosphate or by enzymatic deacylation of soybean-derived phosphatidylcholine. The latter route yields a natural-source product preferred in the natural-products supplement segment. The product is typically formulated on silica or maltodextrin carrier for free-flowing powder.
Approved as a prescription pharmaceutical (choline alfoscerate) in Italy, South Korea, Russia, and several other markets for cognitive and stroke-recovery indications since the 1990s. Approved as a dietary supplement in the United States with multiple New Dietary Ingredient notifications, and in most other markets without prescription requirement.
Strategic positioning is the premium cognitive-support and nootropic supplement segment, where the blood-brain-barrier penetration and acetylcholine-precursor positioning supports substantial price premium over choline bitartrate (catalog id 26186) and other commodity choline forms. Sports nutrition positioning has expanded since 2015 driven by growth-hormone-secretagogue clinical literature.
The Italian and Korean pharmaceutical experience provides the strongest clinical literature for any choline supplement form, with multiple randomized trials supporting cognitive efficacy in dementia and post-stroke cognitive impairment. Premium supplement positioning leverages this clinical literature heavily.
