Description
A polysaccharide-standardized extract from Tremella fuciformis (snow fungus, white jelly fungus, silver ear mushroom). Used in skin-hydration cosmetic applications (the dominant positioning, sometimes marketed as 'natural hyaluronic acid alternative') and in immune-support supplements.
Off-white to light yellow free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble; forms a viscous gel at moderate concentrations (the basis for the cosmetic skin-hydration positioning).
We supply food-grade Tremella Polysaccharide Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Tremella 4:1 Powder (the food-application workhorse), 10:1 concentrate, Polysaccharides 30 percent (standard grade), Polysaccharides 50 percent (premium grade), Polysaccharides 80 percent (high-end cosmetic grade), and Cosmetic-Grade Tremella Polysaccharide 95 percent purity (for premium hydration skincare).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total polysaccharides content, water-binding capacity (relevant for cosmetic applications), residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Tremella fuciformis (snow fungus, yin er in Chinese) is a gelatinous white fungus cultivated commercially in China and Taiwan. The fungus has been used in Chinese cuisine and traditional medicine for at least 1,000 years as a yin-nourishing tonic, with classical association with skin beauty and respiratory health.
The dominant active is a complex acidic heteropolysaccharide (tremella glucuronoxylomannan) with exceptional water-binding capacity, supporting both the food-application gel-forming properties and the cosmetic skin-hydration positioning. The polysaccharide can hold approximately 500 times its weight in water, a property comparable to or exceeding hyaluronic acid.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water extraction of dried Tremella fruit body, followed by precipitation, purification, and spray-drying. Premium cosmetic grades require additional purification and molecular-weight standardization.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient in essentially all jurisdictions.
Strategic positioning is dominated by cosmetic skin-hydration applications where the natural-positioning hyaluronic-acid alternative claim supports premium pricing. Secondary applications in beauty-from-within supplements and traditional Asian food and medicine.
