01 — Overview

Description

The standardized phytoestrogen extract from soybean (Glycine max), containing genistein and daidzein as the principal isoflavone aglycones, alongside their natural glycoside conjugates genistin and daidzin. Used in women's-health menopause-support and bone-health dietary supplements globally.

Light yellow to brown free-flowing powder. Limited water solubility for aglycone-rich grades; glycoside-rich grades are highly water-soluble.

We supply food-grade Soy Isoflavones from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Non-GMO certified grades are available where required.

Common market grades include 20 percent Total Isoflavones (cost-effective baseline), 40 percent Total Isoflavones (the workhorse supplement grade), 60 percent Total Isoflavones (premium grade), 80 percent Total Isoflavones (high-end concentrated grade), Pure Genistein 98 percent (pharmaceutical-grade isolated active), and Pure Daidzein 98 percent.

Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total isoflavones (HPLC), genistein and daidzein content, aglycone-to-glycoside ratio, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.

02 — Background

Introduction

Soybean isoflavones have been consumed at high levels through traditional Asian soy-rich diets for over 2,000 years. The lower incidence of menopausal hot flashes and certain hormone-related conditions in traditional soy-consuming populations versus Western populations led to commercial development of standardized isoflavone supplements beginning in the 1990s.

Industrial production proceeds by hot-water and ethanol extraction of defatted soybean meal (a co-product of soybean oil production), followed by chromatographic purification and standardization to defined isoflavone content. Beta-glucosidase enzymatic conversion can shift the natural glycoside-dominant profile toward the more readily absorbed aglycone forms.

Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA (GRAS), the European Food Safety Authority (with specific opinion on safety at typical supplement doses), and equivalent regulators worldwide.

The isoflavones bind selectively to estrogen receptor beta, providing phytoestrogenic effects substantially weaker than endogenous estradiol. Clinical evidence supports modest reduction in menopausal hot flashes at appropriate doses, with stronger evidence in women who carry the gut bacteria capable of converting daidzein to the more bioactive metabolite equol.

Strategic positioning targets menopause and women's-health supplements globally, the largest natural-product application segment for hormone-related dietary supplements.

03 — Applications

Where it is used

  • Menopause-support dietary supplements: hot-flash and night-sweat-positioned formulations (the dominant commercial application)
  • Bone-health supplements positioned for postmenopausal women
  • Women's-health and hormone-balance supplement formulations
  • Beauty-from-within and anti-aging supplements for mature women
  • Cardiovascular-support supplement formulations
  • Cosmetic skincare: anti-aging and phytoestrogen-positioned formulations
  • Combination women's-health formulations with red clover, black cohosh, and other phytoestrogens
  • Pharmaceutical research applications including hormone-replacement alternatives
