Description
A premium extract of Rosa canina (Dog Rose) hips, standardized to superoxide dismutase (SOD) enzymatic activity in addition to total polyphenols and Vitamin C content. The SOD-active grade serves anti-aging and antioxidant applications where preserved enzymatic activity is the value-driver. Higher SOD activity grades require cold-process extraction and minimal thermal exposure during drying.
Light pink to brown free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble.
We supply food-grade Rose Hip Extract SOD from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Standard Rose Hip Extract 5 percent Vitamin C (the heritage grade), Cold-Process Rose Hip Extract SOD 500 IU/g, SOD 1000 IU/g (premium activity grade), SOD 5000 IU/g (high-end concentrated activity grade), and Galactolipid-Standardized Rose Hip Extract (GOPO-positioned joint-support grade).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering SOD activity (enzymatic assay), Vitamin C content, total polyphenols, residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Rose hips have been consumed as both food and traditional medicine across European, Mediterranean, and Asian cultures for centuries, particularly as a Vitamin C source during winter months. The SOD-active grade emerged from research on cold-process Rose Hip preparations that preserve the native superoxide dismutase enzyme through the harvest, extraction, and drying steps.
Industrial production for the standard Vitamin C grade proceeds by hot-water extraction and spray-drying. SOD-active grades use cold-process extraction with low-temperature drying to preserve enzymatic activity, supported by SOD-assay verification at the COA stage.
Joint-support positioning is based on a specific galactolipid (GOPO) characterized in clinical trials with proprietary Rose Hip preparations, with consistent evidence for modest pain reduction in osteoarthritis at appropriate doses.
Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA, the European Food Safety Authority, and equivalent regulators worldwide. The European Medicines Agency has issued monographs for Rose Hip preparations as Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products for minor joint pain.
Strategic positioning targets premium anti-aging and joint-support dietary supplement applications, with SOD-activity standardization supporting the premium positioning over commodity Rose Hip grades.
