Light brown to yellow-brown free-flowing powder. Limited cold-water solubility; freely soluble in hot water and alcohol.
We supply food-grade Pueraria Lobata Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include 10 percent Puerarin (the supplement workhorse), 20 percent Puerarin, 40 percent Puerarin, 60 percent Puerarin (premium grade), 80 percent Puerarin (pharmaceutical-precursor grade), and 98 percent Pure Puerarin (isolated active for research).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering puerarin content (HPLC), total isoflavones, daidzein and daidzin content, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Pueraria lobata (kudzu) is a perennial vine in the Fabaceae family, native to East Asia and used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years under the name ge gen. The root contains a characteristic isoflavone glycoside profile dominated by puerarin, the C-glycoside isoflavone unique to the Pueraria genus and a small number of related species.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water and hydroalcoholic extraction of dried kudzu root, followed by chromatographic enrichment to defined puerarin content. High-purity grades require additional crystallization passes.
Approved as a traditional medicine and food ingredient in China, Japan, Korea, and several other Asian markets. Sold as a dietary supplement in the U.S. and many other markets. Some European markets require Novel Food assessment.
Puerarin has been the subject of substantial clinical research in China for cardiovascular indications, with intravenous puerarin used as a prescription medicine for angina and stroke recovery in the Chinese pharmacopeia. Oral supplement applications target softer cardiovascular and metabolic positioning.
Strategic positioning combines cardiovascular supplements, hangover-recovery products (a substantial niche commercial application), and traditional medicine.
Where it is used
- Cardiovascular-support dietary supplements: blood-flow and microcirculation positioning
- Hangover-recovery and alcohol-metabolism support formulations (the historical TCM application)
- Menopause and women's hormonal-support supplements (isoflavone phytoestrogen positioning)
- Traditional Chinese Medicine products: ge gen decoctions and granule formats
- Bone-health supplements (puerarin has osteogenic research support)
- Functional beverages: wellness shots and recovery drinks
- Pharmaceutical-precursor applications for isolated puerarin
