Description
A concentrated phospholipid fraction obtained from refined lecithin by deoiling and chromatographic enrichment. Provides phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, and phosphatidylinositol at concentrations substantially higher than standard fluid lecithin.
Pale yellow to brown granular powder or waxy paste depending on concentration and form. Dispersible in water with shear, soluble in oil and ethanol.
We supply soy and sunflower-derived Phospholipid Concentrate from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher, non-GMO and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include PC 20% (standard deoiled lecithin), PC 35%, PC 50% (premium nutritional grade), and PC 95% (pharmaceutical-grade phosphatidylcholine used in liposome manufacture and clinical nutrition). Sunflower-derived material is the non-GMO and allergen-friendly preference.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering phosphatidylcholine assay, acetone-insoluble matter, acid value, peroxide value, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Phospholipids are amphipathic molecules combining a glycerol-phosphate head with two fatty-acid tails. They form the structural basis of biological membranes and are obtained commercially from soybean oil refining as crude lecithin, then refined and concentrated for specialty applications.
Crude soybean lecithin contains approximately 60 to 65 percent phospholipids dissolved in residual triglyceride oil. Acetone deoiling produces deoiled lecithin at 95 percent acetone-insoluble matter and roughly 25 percent phosphatidylcholine. Further chromatographic separation, typically on silica with ethanol elution, yields the 35 to 95 percent PC concentrates.
Sunflower-derived phospholipids serve the non-GMO and soy-free markets and have grown substantially in commercial importance since the mid-2000s.
Phosphatidylcholine is a recognized source of dietary choline, an essential nutrient with established adequate intake levels in major regulatory systems. Choline supports liver function, cell membrane synthesis, and neurotransmitter production.
Pharmaceutical-grade PC95 is the key raw material for liposomal drug delivery, intravenous lipid emulsions for parenteral nutrition, and high-end nutraceutical liposome products. Specification standards are correspondingly stringent in residual solvent, heavy metals, and microbiological profile.
