Description
Natamycin standardized to 50 percent active content with food-grade lactose as the carrier. The most widely used format for direct surface application on cheese and dairy products, where the lactose carrier matches the natural sugar profile of dairy.
Pale yellow free-flowing powder. The lactose carrier provides clean dispersion in dairy systems without introducing salt or other functional ingredients.
We supply food-grade Natamycin 50% in Lactose from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Standard 50% Natamycin / 50% Lactose (the dairy-application workhorse), Pharmaceutical-grade lactose carrier for nutraceutical applications, and Custom Concentration variants from 25% to 50% produced to specification.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering Natamycin assay (HPLC), lactose content, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
This SKU is the lactose-carrier formulation of Natamycin, the most widely used commercial format for dairy and cheese surface preservation worldwide. The 50 percent active concentration with food-grade lactose as bulk provides clean dispersion without contributing salt, fat, or other functional components.
The active ingredient is identical to the parent Natamycin (catalog id 7700): a polyene macrolide produced by fermentation of Streptomyces natalensis, active against yeasts and molds.
Regulatory status follows that of pure Natamycin (E235 in the EU, GRAS in the U.S., JECFA-approved at 0.3 mg per kg body weight ADI). The lactose carrier is regulated as a standard dairy ingredient.
Strategic positioning is dairy and cheese applications specifically. Cheese surface treatment by direct dusting and spray application requires a free-flowing powder with even particle size; pure Natamycin would clump and dose unevenly. The lactose-carrier format solves both problems while introducing only a sugar that is already native to dairy products.
Where it is used
- Cheese surface treatment by direct dusting, spraying, or dipping; the dominant format for dairy-application Natamycin globally
- Hard cheese, processed cheese, semi-hard cheese, and string cheese
- Yogurt and fermented dairy product surface preservation
- Premium dairy desserts and cream-based applications
- Pharmaceutical chewable tablets and oral suspensions where lactose is a compatible excipient
- Dietary supplement antifungal applications
- Specialty bakery applications in dairy-heavy formulations
