Description
The high-purity isolated silybin (silibinin) fraction from Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) seeds. Silybin is the most active flavonolignan in the silymarin complex, and the pure isolated form is used in pharmaceutical liver-support applications including injectable formulations for Amanita poisoning.
Light yellow to light beige free-flowing powder. Limited water solubility; bioavailability-enhanced complexes (silybin phosphatidylcholine, silybin-bis-hemisuccinate disodium salt for injection) have substantially improved solubility.
We supply pharmaceutical-grade Milk Thistle Silybin Pure from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Silybin 80 percent (premium supplement grade), Silybin A+B 98 percent (the pharmaceutical-grade isolated active), Silybin-Bis-Hemisuccinate Disodium Salt (the injectable pharmaceutical form), and Silybin Phosphatidylcholine Complex (the bioavailability-enhanced supplement form).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering silybin A+B content (HPLC), individual diastereomer ratio, residual solvents, heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
Silybin is the principal flavonolignan in the silymarin complex isolated from Milk Thistle seeds. The compound is the highest-potency liver-protective component of silymarin and exists as a mixture of two diastereomers (silybin A and silybin B) at approximately 1:1 ratio.
Industrial production proceeds by ethanol extraction of Milk Thistle seeds, followed by chromatographic purification and crystallization to isolate the silybin diastereomers. The injectable pharmaceutical grade (silybin-bis-hemisuccinate disodium salt) requires additional chemical derivatization.
Listed in EP and BP pharmacopoeias as a pharmaceutical product. The injectable form (Legalon SIL) is approved in the EU and several other markets specifically for treatment of Amanita phalloides mushroom poisoning.
Clinical evidence for silybin is among the strongest for any natural-product hepatoprotective agent, supported by controlled trials in viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease, and as the established gold-standard antidote for Amanita mushroom poisoning.
Strategic positioning serves premium pharmaceutical and high-end dietary supplement applications where the isolated active commands substantial price premiums over conventional silymarin grades.
