Description
The tartrate salt form of L-Carnitine, the preferred carnitine form for tablet and capsule manufacturing due to substantially lower hygroscopicity than the parent L-Carnitine base. The dominant sports-nutrition tablet-and-capsule format.
White crystalline powder. Non-hygroscopic; suitable for direct tablet and capsule manufacturing without specialized humidity control.
We supply food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade L-Carnitine L-Tartrate from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades include Standard 99 percent Food Grade, Pharmaceutical Grade meeting USP specifications, and pre-blended LCLT systems with other sports-nutrition ingredients.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering assay, specific rotation, L-Carnitine content (typically 68 percent by mass), heavy metals, and microbiology.
Introduction
L-Carnitine L-Tartrate is the tartrate salt of L-Carnitine, produced by neutralization of L-Carnitine base with food-grade L-tartaric acid. The salt form addresses the principal handling limitation of L-Carnitine: the parent compound is highly hygroscopic and impractical for direct tablet and capsule manufacturing without specialized humidity-controlled equipment.
The tartrate counter-ion accounts for approximately 32 percent of total mass, so L-Carnitine L-Tartrate provides 68 percent L-Carnitine activity by mass.
Regulatory status follows that of L-Carnitine (GRAS in the U.S., approved globally). L-tartaric acid is regulated as E334 in the EU.
Strategic positioning serves the solid-dose supplement segment specifically, where the handling advantages of the tartrate salt over L-Carnitine base outweigh the lower active mass percentage.
