Description
A spray-dried complex of soluble dietary fibers (typically resistant dextrin, inulin, and polydextrose) co-encapsulated with structural carriers such as modified starch and acacia gum. Designed to deliver fiber, bulking, and partial fat replacement in a single ingredient call-out.
White to slightly off-white free-flowing powder with neutral taste and clean dispersion in water and dairy systems.
We supply food-grade Functional Fiber Microcapsule Powder from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production.
Common market grades are formulated to specific fiber profiles and target applications: bakery (higher insoluble component), beverage (clear-solution soluble fibers), and dairy (low-viscosity, protein-compatible). Custom ratios are produced to brand-owner specification.
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering total dietary fiber, individual fiber components, moisture, and microbiology.
Introduction
Functional fiber microcapsules represent the formulator-ready segment of the dietary-fiber category, in which multiple individual fibers are pre-blended and co-spray-dried to deliver a single, easy-to-handle ingredient that solves both nutritional and texture objectives.
Production starts with selection of the component fibers. Resistant dextrin provides the bulk soluble-fiber load. Inulin contributes prebiotic and short-chain-fatty-acid potential. Polydextrose adds bulking and low-glycemic load. Modified starch or acacia gum acts as the spray-drying carrier and helps the finished powder disperse cleanly in water.
Each component is independently approved by major regulatory bodies (U.S. FDA, EFSA, JECFA, and national authorities). The blended product is sold as a formulation, not as a single specification, which is why batch-level COA reports component proportions alongside total fiber content.
The strategic role is to compress the formulation steps for fiber-fortified products from three or four ingredient additions into one. For brand owners reformulating to higher fiber claims under recent regulatory thresholds, this format reduces process changes and protects the existing manufacturing line.
Where it is used
- Reduced-fat baked goods and snack bars; fiber claim alongside partial fat replacement
- Fiber-fortified beverages and ready-to-drink protein shakes; low-viscosity dispersion in liquid systems
- Yogurt and cultured dairy products; fiber addition without protein-precipitation issues
- Functional confectionery, gummies, and chocolate; bulks and contributes prebiotic claim
- Meal-replacement and weight-management shakes; satiety and digestive-health positioning
- Infant and toddler products in age-appropriate fiber tiers
- Frozen desserts and dairy alternatives; mouthfeel support at reduced fat
- Pet food and pet treats; fiber and prebiotic function in coated kibble and biscuits
