Description
A standardized extract of Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus, huang qi in Traditional Chinese Medicine), one of the most important tonic herbs in TCM. Standardized to astragaloside IV (the principal saponin marker) and to total polysaccharide content. Used in immune-support, energy, and longevity dietary supplements globally.
Light yellow-brown to brown free-flowing powder. Highly water-soluble for polysaccharide-standardized grades; saponin-standardized grades have lower solubility.
We supply food-grade Astragalus Root Extract from manufacturers in China holding ISO, Halal, Kosher and other certifications relevant to the product and production. Organic-certified grades are available.
Common market grades include 50 percent Polysaccharides (standard supplement grade), 70 percent Polysaccharides (premium grade), Astragaloside IV 0.3 percent (standard saponin-standardized grade), Astragaloside IV 1 percent (premium saponin grade), Astragaloside IV 5 percent (high-end concentrated grade), and 98 percent pure Astragaloside IV (pharmaceutical-grade isolated active).
Bulk and reduced-MOQ shipments. Batch-level COA covering astragaloside IV content (HPLC), total polysaccharides (UV), residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiology.
Introduction
Astragalus (huang qi) has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for over 2,000 years as a primary qi-tonifying and immune-supporting herb. The plant is among the most-prescribed herbs in TCM hospital practice and is included in countless classical and modern formulations.
Industrial production proceeds by hot-water extraction of dried Astragalus roots, followed by purification and standardization to defined astragaloside IV or total polysaccharide content. Premium high-purity astragaloside IV grades require chromatographic isolation and serve as feedstock for premium longevity-positioned products including the TA-65 telomerase-activation supplement category.
Listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia as a pharmaceutical product. Recognized as a permitted food ingredient by the U.S. FDA, the European Food Safety Authority, and equivalent regulators worldwide.
Pharmacological characterization includes documented immune-modulation through both polysaccharide and saponin mechanisms, cardioprotective activity, and emerging research on telomerase activation by specific astragaloside derivatives (the basis for the premium longevity-supplement positioning). Clinical evidence supports use in cold and flu prevention, cardiovascular adjunctive treatment, and chemotherapy support.
Strategic positioning combines mass-market immune-support dietary supplements (the volume application) with premium longevity-positioned supplement segments (the high-value application).
